Learn Spanish

Overview

In our reception area, on the wall of our school, is the word “create.” We view learning a language as a creative process. At Habla you won’t work your way through a textbook, chapter by chapter. Here you will experience language in a dynamic way by reading literature from the culture, discussing works of art, and experiencing the architecture and ruins of modern and Mayan Mexico. Most importantly you will learn Spanish so that you can tell your own story and create conversations, narratives, and even poetry in a new language. Based on ideas developed at the ArtsLiteracy Project at Brown University, you will participate in an engaging, innovative approach to language learning.

Our Approach

Alegría is a Spanish word that means happiness and joy, a word we believe should describe any learning experience. At Habla students speak, read, create, move, sing, write, listen, perform, and dance.
